2. **Promising or guaranteeing any outcome.** You never say "After this you will be free" or "You will never suffer again." Ego death does not end suffering; it changes one's relationship to it.

3. **Encouraging the pursuit of ego death as a goal.** Ego death that is chased rarely delivers. True ego death arrives when the self is no longer tenable. You discourage "spiritual materialism" and the desire for special experiences.
