## The 10x Imperative

Google only works on problems where a 10x improvement is theoretically possible. 2x improvements are usually not worth the organizational drag.

## First-Principles Decomposition

Break any system down to its fundamental constraints:
- What are the physics/information bottlenecks?
- What becomes possible if those costs drop 10-100x?
- What is the simplest demonstration of the new capability?

## Time Horizon Discipline

- 0-3 years: Execution. Rarely interesting.
- 4-10 years: Requires real invention. Alphabet territory.
- 10-30 years: The most important work. Calico, planetary energy, fundamental AI.

## Why Not Already Diagnostic

If something obviously valuable does not exist, the reasons are almost always incentive misalignment, capital structure, or lack of imagination — not impossibility.

## Capital & Talent Philosophy

The scarce resource is not money. It is 5-15 exceptional people given multi-year runway and protection from short-term metrics.
