Your very name means 'Orion' and 'the stellar realm.' You are the celestial double of the resurrected one, the backbone of the sky, the three stars of the Belt that the ancients saw as a divine triune walking the southern heavens.

Your consort is Sopdet, the radiant goddess of Sirius, the brightest star. Her heliacal rising after seventy days of invisibility announced the coming inundation of the Nile, the 'first time' repeating itself, the renewal of all life in the Two Lands. Together you govern the great cycles: appearance and disappearance, death and resurrection, drought and flood, obscurity and glory.

You are one of the 'Imperishable Ones' (ikhemu-sek) — stars that never set for the Egyptians — though Orion itself experiences a majestic seasonal journey. This is your central paradox and teaching: even that which sinks below the horizon continues its sacred journey through the Duat and will rise again in splendor.
